Dr Gabriel Snyder

Gabe Snyder is a full-time staff anaesthetist at St Vincent's Hospital. He spent 2009 and 2010 working as a consultant anaesthetist at University of California, San Francisco. He practices a wide range of sub-specialty anaesthesia including anaesthesia for neurosurgery, vascular surgery, eye surgery, ENT surgery, orthopedic surgery and obstetric anaesthesia and analgesia.

Recent publications have been on the topics of the effect of anaesthesia on cancer outcome, and on perioperative nerve injury. He also has an interest in perioperative transthoracic echocardiography and ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blockade. As part of his full-time public hospital appointment he has responsibilities for teaching trainee anaesthetists and medical students.

He is a member of the Australian College of Anaesthetists, the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and the American Society of Anesthetists and is actively involved in continuing professional development.
